I realize this isn’t a networking course, but if anyone has any experience with networking, in particular Hyper-V and Server 2019, pleases drop me a line.
I have Server 2019 Datacenter(DE) installed on my physical machine. I’ve installed Hyper-V as a role on this server and created a VM, in which I’ve installed Server 2019(DE) on this VM.
I have assigned a static IP address to both the physical machine server and the VM server(using ipconfig /all) but the VM won’t connect to the internet. I know it’s a switching issue? If you could please let me know what screenshots you might need to help me resolve this issue it would be much appreciated.

You are right, it is a networking issue with the virtual switch most likely. You can read the following Microsoft Documentation to create a switch:
