I’m unable to modify the default gateway on the DCs in order to make the SAROUTE01 server their default gateway as specificed in the lab instruction. Error received when attempting to modify network connection attached.

In the lab check that you are in the domain controller as an administrator executing in a command prompt whoami command. There should not be any restrictions on the administrator account. Also, you can open a command prompt as an administrator and execute control.exe to open Control Panel.
